Fresh off watching Harley-Davidson’s official Chapter 2 launch video in the Law Abiding Biker Store, Lurch and I sat down to break down what was actually revealed with the 2026 Harley-Davidson models. (see video below)

A couple of months ago, we covered Chapter 1, and since then we’ve seen multiple 2026 bikes listed on Harley’s website under covers—names revealed, but not the bikes themselves. Now that Chapter 2 has dropped, there’s a lot more to talk about than you might expect.

Harley put out a highly produced video, and it looked great—but as always, we’re here to cut through the fluff and focus on what matters to you as a consumer, especially if you’re in the market for a 2026 Harley-Davidson.

Let’s dive in.

One of the biggest wins for 2026 is lineup clarity.

In 2024, Harley created confusion by rolling out redesigned fairings on some bikes, while Limited models were stuck with the old fairing design. It made shopping—and aftermarket compatibility—a mess.

For 2026:

ALL touring bikes now feature the redesigned fairings
Both Street Glide Limited and Road Glide Limited are fully updated
No more guessing games for consumers—or parts compatibility nightmares for motorcycle stores like ours.

This is a huge improvement.

Street Glide Limited: A True Factory Ultra Replacement

The 2026 Street Glide Limited is exactly what many riders (including me) ended up building themselves in prior years by adding an OEM trunk and lower fairings.

Sprint / entry-level model (no $6K bike)

Harley has done mid-year releases before—but based on what we’re seeing, these models appear to be gone for now.

The Street Glide Ultra appears to be officially gone after a single model year.

For over 20 years, the basic Harley-Davidson cable clutch system has remained largely unchanged. While it’s reliable, let’s be honest—it doesn’t exactly feel premium. If you’ve ever ridden a motorcycle with a hydraulic clutch-which Harley had on touring bikes from 2014-2020, you know the difference immediately: lighter pull, smoother engagement, and less hand fatigue.

In this guide, we’re going to walk you through how to properly adjust your Harley-Davidson cable clutch system—both externally and internally—and show you proven ways to dramatically improve clutch feel. Harley-Davidson—and yes, Indian as well—uses a cable-operated clutch system on many modern bikes. Most other motorcycle manufacturers (including dirt bikes and even electric bikes) have used hydraulic clutches for years because they:

Require less lever effort
Provide smoother engagement
Reduce hand fatigue in traffic or long rides
No internal adjustments necessary for the lift of the clutch

Stock OEM Harley Plastic Inline Cable Adjuster

In 2021, Harley-Davidson moved away from hydraulic clutches on certain models and returned to a cable system that relies on a plastic inline Bowden-style adjuster. While functional, it has several drawbacks:

Limited ability to fine-tune clutch engagement
Predetermined tension (not rider-adjustable)
Plastic construction that can fail and leave you stranded

We know these fail in real-world riding and training environments.

We strongly recommend replacing the plastic adjuster with a metal adjustable Bowden-style unit, which gives you back full control.

The first thing you’ll notice about the CR-X Drystar is simple: it’s unbelievably comfortable. These feel more like your favorite pair of trail running shoes than motorcycle footwear. I wear them around the Law Abiding Biker Store daily, and half the time I forget I'm even in riding shoes.

Protection Features: What You Get (and What You Don’t)

Let’s be honest—these are NOT our most protective riding shoes. If you’re heading out on multi-day cross-country touring, like our 12-day Canada ride, you'd want something like:

Icon Stormhawk Boot (much more robust protection + waterproof)
Icon Patrol 3 Boot (still flexible but better suited for long hours in the saddle)

That said, the CR-X Drystar still offers important protection for a lightweight shoe:

Toe Reinforcement

A reinforced toe box provides basic protection, though less substantial compared to our heavier touring boots.

Reinforced Heel Cup

A synthetic leather heel counter provides better-than-expected support and rigidity. This is one of the areas where the CR-X outperforms many lightweight shoes.

Ankle Protection

External ankle disk on the outside of the shoe
Internal padding sewn inside the medial side
Provides moderate ankle protection appropriate for a commuter shoe.

Shift Pad

Both shoes include a built-in shifter panel to prevent unnecessary wear—something not all lightweight shoes include.

Reflective Elements

Subtle but effective:

Are they waterproof enough for light to moderate riding in rain? Absolutely.

Are they ideal for sustained long-distance heavy rain?

Note:
The laces are a bit long. It works fine thanks to the Velcro stowing system, but a shorter lace would be appreciated in future versions.

Sizing

Very true to size.
I'm normally a 9.5–10, and the size 10 fits comfortably. I could have easily worn a 9.5.

Tip:
Try them in your house first—if they don’t fit and the tags are still on, we’ll exchange them. That’s how we take care of bikers.
