A lot of riders asked the same question after we put out our HOGWORKZ Silvertooth install and review: how does the yellow Goldtooth version stack up against the white Silvertooth? So we grabbed a HOGWORKZ Goldtooth LED Performance Headlight from our store shelves, installed it on our Harley-Davidson Street Glide, and ran it head-to-head against the Silvertooth at night. Both headlights, along with everything else mentioned in this article, are available right now in the Law Abiding Biker Store. (see video below)

We're an authorized HOGWORKZ dealer. We've had both the Goldtooth and Silvertooth installed and tested on the same Harley-Davidson Street Glide so the comparison is as close to apples-to-apples as it gets.

Same Light, Different Color

Here's the thing a lot of people don't realize: the Goldtooth and Silvertooth are the exact same headlight internally. Same 10 independent LEDs, same lumen output, same housing. The only difference is the lens color — Silvertooth gives you a clean white beam, Goldtooth gives you a warmer yellow beam. Everything else about performance is identical.

That output breaks down like this:

• Low beam: 4 of the 10 LEDs fire, putting out roughly 4,200 lumens — about 90% brighter than the stock OEM Harley-Davidson headlight.
• High beam: All 10 LEDs fire, adding another 5,400 lumens for a combined output around 9,600 lumens — roughly 45% brighter than OEM on high beam.

Both versions fit the 2024-and-newer Harley-Davidson Touring models with the redesigned batwing and shark nose fairings, and HOGWORKZ also makes Goldtooth and Silvertooth versions for the older pre-2024 batwing and shark nose fairing models. All-metal construction with cooling fins on the back means it also runs cooler and feels noticeably more solid in your hand than the OEM unit.

 

Install Overview

The swap is plug-and-play — no splicing or custom wiring required. You'll pull the fairing, remove the headlight bracket, swap the old headlight for the Goldtooth, and reconnect the fairing. The one decision point during install is whether to connect the halo ring (the lighted ring around the outside of the headlight) — that's purely a personal preference call, and it's just as easy to leave it disconnected if you want a cleaner look.

Yellow vs. White: Which One Actually Looks Better?

We'll be honest — going into this, I figured we'd still prefer the white Silvertooth. I had ever ridden a bike with a yellow headlight before, so this was a first. But sitting next to the bike in daylight with the Goldtooth installed, it looked a lot better than expected. Pair that with a colored windshield or other accent lighting and the yellow tone actually pulls the whole front end together.

At night is where the real test happens, and that's where the side-by-side comparison in the video below matters most. Since the lumen output is identical between the two, this really comes down to which beam color you personally prefer for night riding — and we go back and forth between the Goldtooth and Silvertooth so you can make that call for your own Harley-Davidson.

Other Upgrades in the Mix

While the fairing was apart, a few other products we run and sell came up that pair well with either headlight:

• Ciro Goatee Light – Replaces that cheap-looking stock OEM black plastic piece below the headlight with an additional light that doubles as an amber turn signal. Small upgrade, noticeable difference.
• Ciro Vent Light – Mounts above the headlight and adds even more light up front, also functioning as a turn signal. This version runs Ciro's Lightstrike technology, which connects to a smartphone app so you can set custom boot-up animations, strobe patterns, and signal behavior.
• Klock Werks Kolor Flare Windshield (Orange Ice) – A colored windshield option that adds a fluorescent edge effect. Available in a range of colors for Street Glide and Road Glide models.
