That big, bulky OEM plastic bracket sticks out and just doesn't match the clean lines the rest of the bike has going for it. What You're Working With

The HOGWORKZ LED License Plate Frame Mount is a plug-and-play part built specifically for the new fairing design on 2024-and-newer Harley-Davidson Touring models. It replaces the entire stock plastic license plate holder and reflector assembly with a slimmer, more modern chrome or black frame and backing plate — and it lights up. Since it taps straight into your bike's factory wiring, there's no splicing and no guesswork.

The Install, In Brief (⬇️ see detailed install video below ⬇️)

The job starts with pulling the license plate and OEM reflector, then working up underneath the rear fender to free the stock plate holder from its wiring and mounting points — a flexible work light like our Mechanics Flexi Light makes that part a lot easier. Once the old plastic is out (none of it gets reused), we hit everything with Bug Slide, our go-to waterless cleaner, before mounting up.

The HOGWORKZ kit comes with a backing plate and chrome (or black) frame, connected by a short wire, plus all the hardware you need. The backing plate bolts to the fender first, then the frame gets a little hand-shaped curve to match — including our own bending method for getting that chrome frame curved just right — before it's snugged into place.

Making the Wiring Connection

Wiring is a keyed factory-style plug, so it only goes together one way — no guesswork. Extra slack gets zip-tied out of the way behind the fender support, then it's a quick power-on to confirm the LEDs light up.

The Result

The difference is immediate — that bulky OEM plastic is gone, replaced with a clean chrome (or black) frame that actually looks like it belongs on a 2024-and-newer Touring model. It's a genuinely easy install — maybe a one-beer job, maybe two if you're taking your time — and it's one of those small changes that makes the whole rear end of the bike look more modern.
