EFI Remapping After Installation

Any time you install a high-flow air intake, you’ll need to remap your EFI (Electronic Fuel Injection) so your bike’s computer knows how to adjust the fuel-to-air ratio for optimal performance.

Note: At the time of this install, Vance & Hines was still finalizing FP4 tuning support for 2024+ Harley-Davidson models with the new Infotainment Control Unit (IFCU) digital dash system. Check the product link in our store for current compatibility or sign up for restock notifications.

If FP4 support isn’t yet available for your model, your local Harley-Davidson dealership can install a canned EFI map, or you can use the Harley-Davidson Screamin’ Eagle tuner (although we find it to be a bit clunky compared to the FP4).

The Installation Overview

Installing the Vance & Hines V02 Air Intake is straightforward and requires only basic hand tools. Here’s a quick overview of the process:

1. Remove the Stock Air Cleaner Assembly:
   Take off the factory air intake cover, filter, and backing plate.

2. Install the New Vance & Hines Adapter and Gasket:
   Apply blue Loctite to your bolts, install the provided breather adapter, and reconnect the crank breather hose.

3. Mount the Backing Plate and Filter:
   Secure the backing plate using the supplied bolts and spacers, then attach the dry, reusable filter and outer cover.

4. Tighten and Check Everything:
   Make sure all bolts are snug, hoses are secure, and the intake sits flush.

This is a dry-style filter, so you won’t have to deal with messy oiling. Just rinse it with mild soap and water for maintenance and reuse.
